I know how proud people are of Ashton – I am too. They talk about our schools, our green spaces, our community spirit and the changes already happening across the town.
Ashton has enormous strengths – my job is to make sure we get the investment, opportunities and attention it deserves. For example, I want young people growing up here to feel they can build a successful future without having to leave the place they call home. That means bringing jobs back here – I have already started this and as your MP I will keep going.
Protecting What Makes Ashton Special
When residents talk about this town, they talk about community, pride, and people looking out for one another. That’s worth protecting.
This town is full of decent, hardworking people. They shouldn’t have to put up with anti-social behaviour that puts people off coming to the town centre or makes people feel unsafe.
That’s why, from day one as your MP, I’ll work with local partners on a plan to make Ashton town centre safer and ensure the people who cause problems are properly dealt with.
